There are many different types of window treatments to consider if you are planning to decorate your windows. Verticle blinds are a good option especially if you have long windows. Verticle blinds allow you to open the window totally; in slits of varying sizes; or closed tight against the sun and the world. These blinds have hardware on top of the window that houses the hooks for long veins that hang the length of the window. The veins are controlled with two sets of drawstrings. One set pulls the veins together and to the side opening the window. The other set rotates the veins when they are closed to allow different amounts of sunlight an view. The right angle allows people inside to see out without being seen from the outside.

When verticle blinds are closed tightly they form almost an extension of the wall hiding the window from view on the inside. In cold climates thermal blinds are used and help to control the temperature loss in the room. They provide insulation to what could be like a hold in the wall on a cold winter day. On sunny days they can be pulled to the side and the sun allowed to pour in.

You can buy verticle blinds in many different colors to suit your unique decorating needs. They come in standard sizes but can be custom ordered for unusual sized windows. Blinds need to be an exact fit so careful measuring is always advised before you place an order or make a purchase.
