Bead curtains can be a casual and fun way to deal with your window treatments

An interesting option for your window treatments may be beaded curtain. There are several different types but a very common one is long, colorful strands of small beads hanging in a vertical format. They are only attached at the top in a solid line and otherwise hang freely in the door or window frame. Bead curtains became popular in the general market in the 1970’s but have appear in many forms over the years around the world. They can often be found made from bamboo or shells in tropical climates but still produced in the same style as regular bead curtains. They provide limited protection but do allow some privacy without restricting fresh air movement.

Bead curtains have found a very useful function as a kind of doorway curtain to separate rooms where a doorframe is there with no actual door. The beads provide a barrier without taking up the opening and closing space a conventional door would need. They work well in small spaces without making you feel cramped. They are a very cheap decorating idea and usually do not require a rod. They simple attach to the sides on the window or door with two hooks at each topmost corner.

Online window treatment shopping will bring you to many suppliers that can provide you with bead curtains. They will show you the many colors and designs of beads you can choose from and even offer you the option of custom stringing the perfect ones for your décor.
