New Paperez™ Wallcovering from Eisenhart Marries Environmental Friendliness and Beauty

Paperez, a new wallcovering from Eisenhart that is making its NEOCON debut this week, marries environmental friendliness with beautiful designs and a rich, fabric-like feel.

Paperez (pronounced paper-ease), which is being displayed in the Ahlstrom FiberComposites booth, F423 on the 8th Floor, addresses today's issues of indoor air quality and ease of installation and removal. Paperez is a nonwoven wallcovering that has no vinyl or PVCs. Its polyester-cellulose composition makes Paperez a user-friendly decorating tool that is ideal for healthy indoor environments. Key features are:

Paperez lowers the risk of mold and mildew growth because it is permeable and breathable to allow moisture to pass through it and dissipate rather than trapping it in the wall cavity or between the wallcovering and the wall. With a permeability rating of over 300 (ASTM E96-95, Standard Test Methods for Water Vapor Transmission), Paperez is well-suited for use in warm climates where buildings have the high moisture levels and lower indoor room temperatures that typically result from the use of air conditioning. (Editors Note: Typical ratings for impermeable wallcoverings are 1 or less. Semi-permeable and permeable wallcoverings typically have ratings in the range of 2 to 100.)
There is no off-gassing of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with Paperez, because Paperez has no vinyl or PVCs and it is printed with Eisenhart's water-based inks.
Paperez is suitable for commercial as well as residential applications because it is Class A fire-rated.

Paperez does not absorb water and will not stretch or shrink, eliminating unsightly seam separations and creating a professional looking installation. Paperez does not tear easily, making it easy to hang, cut and trim; and it is resistant to real-world "nicks and dings." A heavy high-quality product, Paperez has an appealing tactile surface that is reminiscent of fabric. It is also completely dry strippable and comes off in full sheets.

Eisenhart's first complete collection to be printed on Paperez is Terrazzo®, a 27-inch wide collection of natural designs for sophisticated interiors.

A carefully edited collection that invites individual interpretation, Terrazzo complements and enhances many of today's interior styles. It is ideally suited to interiors where textures such as leather, chenille, silk, jute and distressed woods provide visual and tactile interest and create warm and comfortable environments. The patterns include stripes, leaves and vines, marble, mosaic and stone looks, scrolls, soft and subtle harlequins with the look of washed canvas, a delicate grass motif that hints at Asian influences and pencil-like sketches of single stems of poppies that could be retro or a modern interpretation of toile.

With complementing borders for many of the patterns, plus a large color palette, Terrazzo promises to be a versatile design resource.
