Abbey Pynford at London Homebuilding, House Designs & Renovating Show 2003

Specialist ground engineering solutions company Abbey Pynford will be exhibiting at the London Homebuilding & Renovating Show, which takes place at the Wembley Exhibition Centre from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 September 2003.

Abbey Pynford offers a wide range of ground engineering and piling solutions, including the widest range of underpinning solutions in the UK, but we are also well known for lifting and moving buildings such as the famous Belle Tout lighthouse at Beachy Head and for our innovative foundation system.

Abbey Pynford's Housedeck(r) is a piled raft foundation system offering a range of solutions to suit a variety of ground conditions and house designs - and prices start at just £90 per m2. We are offering free budget estimates/technical recommendations when you bring your plans along to the stand at the London show.

Housedeck is custom designed, and so is able to accommodate a wide range of ground conditions and house foundation footprints. A major advantage of our 'total package' solution is flexibility. Should natural or man-made obstructions be encountered, then the in-house design team at Abbey Pynford are able to react quickly and effectively, saving time and money.

There are four versions of the system available: a ground-bearing slab; an anti-heave option incorporating a void; a gas membrane option; and vibro replacement stone columns. In addition, all four versions of Housedeck meet both NHBC and LANTAC technical requirements, which gives our customers the assurance that we meet the highest standards in our design and build.

Our versatile system allows for quicker and more cost-effective completion than other more traditional methods - there's no trench to flood with rain water and hold up the work, for instance. There's another plus with Housedeck, because little or no spoil is removed from site - and that's an important consideration both on environmental grounds and because of the proposed increase in the landfill charge. Another innovative feature of the system is the stainless steel edge, which allows follow-on-trades (such as bricklayers) to start work immediately on a clean, safe surface, and this significantly improves overall construction time.

Housedeck currently covers buildings up to and including three storeys in height and, unlike pre-cast systems, can accommodate a wide range of variations to the foundation footprint.
